IS YOUR CHURCH IN THE HALL OF FAME OR SHAME?

Here is an ever-growing list of churches that I feel very strongly that they should be included on a "Hall of Fame" list since they really show compassion to the people in need in their communities. Along with the church name and location, there is a short description of what the church does to show compassion.

DAYSTAR CHURCH OF GOD - Bandon, OR

I am sorry to see that this church has been disbanded because the pastor had moved away but I want to keep it listed because of it's the great social ministries that it had. I learned of the closure in January, 2007. The last time I visited Bandon, Oregon in 2004, the church had a membership of less than three dozen members and a part-time minister. Even with this low number of membership, the church had a clothes closet, food bank, and a short-term housing ministry. These ministries are housed in two single-wide trailors behind the church.

This a just a short list but they are some great examples of what a "compassionate church" is like. If you know of a church that has a great compassion ministry, please email me and I would gladly add that church to the list. As stated in the title of this section, there will be a page of reasons why churches are not compassionate. HERE is the page.
