L-RD OF LIFE LUTHERAN CHURCH Portage, Michigan

- "Scavenger Hunt For Food". Last September, 29 members went through their neighborhood and collected 1,000 pounds of food for Loaves and Fishes, which is a food pantry in Kalamazoo, MI. Members went out towing little red wagons.

LYTTLEON STREET UNITED METHODIST CHURCH - Camden, South Carolina

This church has quite a few missions. The church is a major sponsor of the local Christian Community Ministries and has on-going collections for food for the pantry, It is a covenant church with the local Habitat for Humanity Affiliate. On May 8th, 2005, ground was broken for the affiliate's third Habitat House. The house was constructed on the grassy area of the church property along Fair Street and upon completion the house was moved to its permanent location. The church is very involved with U.M.V.I.M. (United Methodist Volunteers in Mission). They have made several trips to Biloxi to help rebuild homes after Hurricane Katrina. W.A.R.M. (Weatherization and Repair Ministry) - The first year of repairs was in response to damage caused by Hurricane Hugo and at the urging of LSUMC youth. Caregivers - Caregivers keep a watchful eye on our homebound members and members in nursing facilities and assisted living facilities.

MAIN STREET UNITED METHODIST CHURCH - Waynesboro, Virginia

This church provides a small food pantry for the people in need in the community.

MATTHEWS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH - Greenwood, South Carolina

The church has had a Congregational Nurse on staff since 2001. The nurse provides Blood Pressure Screenings; Health Education; Home, Hospital, and Nursing Home Visits; Assistance with Lifestyle Changes; Assessment of Healthcare Needs; Referral to Community Resources; and Provides Health Information.

MEMORIAL LUTHERAN CHURCH - Nevada, Iowa

The church has quite a few compassion ministries. The Care Group provides luncheons for families who have lost loved ones. A lot across the street from the church has been turned into Noah's Garden and the abundance of it's produce is shared locally. There is a parish nurse. Church members meet regularly to make prayer shawls and also make handmade quilts for the newly baptized. Also, the church has a downtown building that hosts the Harmony Clothing Closet. In 2010, over 60,000 items of clothing were distributed to over 9,000 people in Story County and the surrounding area.

NEW HOPE COMMUNITY CHURCH - Loudonville, Ohio

This church has several wonderful compassion ministries. New Hope's Blanket Ministry meets once a month. They make blankets for babies, graduating seniors and hospital patients. KIA is Kindness In Action. It is a way for the church members to help those in our community and to help them experience God's Unconditional Love while doing so.
