With all that has been said on this website, I want to discuss one more thing and that is that I hope that you do not miss Heaven by 18 inches. It would really bad for someone when they actually get close to Heaven when they die but they are turned away because the L-RD says "I never knew you; depart from me." (Matthew 7:23).
The distance between the head and the heart is 18 inches. Many proclaimed Christians (who in some cases can hold responsible positions in the church) possess only a "head" (or intellectual) acceptance of the Messiah. These people who hold responsible positions in churches could be preachers, religious, and teachers. Having only a "head" (intellectual) knowledge of the Messiah (fully knowing and giving a mental assessment to the plan of salvation) without also having a 'heart' acceptance, which brings a personal relationship that the Bible demands avails nothing to anyone. Benjamin Franklin is widely quoted to have said "The Scriptures assured him that we will be judged not on what we have thought but on what we have done."
The Apostle Paul spoke about this in Romans 10:2 as his heart cried out concerning Israel. He said that he bears them record that they should have a zeal of ADONAI but not according to knowledge. He was speaking about the misdirected efforts and energies expended in the strength of the flesh but not under the direction of the HOLY SPIRIT. The lack of power today in many of modern-day churches, as well as the lack of power in the lives of professing Christians, can lead directly to this.
It is only when we see ourselves in the mirror of ADONAI's Word as being without excuse or hope (as if we are utterly lost and undone) that the truth of the Scriptures can convict us, for the Bible clearly reveals that is how ADONAI sees us when the wonderful truth of the Bible brings us to a point of recognition of our own sinfulness and we are true in our repentance we cry out to ADONAI asking for forgiveness and also for guidance along with asking Him to come into ourhearts instead of just into our heads, we can truly experience a new birth. (Romans 3:10-18,21-23) .
The MESSIAH Himself said that "He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no man can come to the Father but through Him" (John 14:6).
The Bible says "That whoever has the Son has eternal life, and he that does not have the Son of ADONAI
has no eternal life (1 John 5:12). Also, the Bible promises "that if one confesses with their mouth the MESSIAH, and shall believe in their heart that ADONAI raised the MESSIAH from the dead, they shall be saved. For with the heart the man believes righteousness, but through the mouth confession is made for salvation. (Romans 10:9-10).
The Messiah wants into your heart, not just your head. This is because "the MESSIAH sees not what the man sees, for a man just looks at the outward appearance, but the MESSIAH sees what is inside the heart (1 Samuel 16:7).
It is really important that you should make sure that it is not just head knowledge and mental assent that you give to the MESSIAH. The MESSIAH needs your complete trust so that you can become a true follower of him. You can memorize and quote the Bible from cover to cover but if it's not evident in your heart all of your effort doesn't really matter. Eighteen inches can mean an eternity in the wrong place without the MESSIAH. Are you really sure that you have the right and correct personal relationship with him? Please settle the question in your heart once and for all right now.
