STORIES FROM THE ROAD

BUFFALO BURGERS
I was told that I should stop at this restaurant about
ten mile out of Sanderson, TX. I had to go passed it on my
way to Alpine. I got there a little before noon and it
looked like I was expected because when I got inside I
was told to just sit down at a table and my meal would
be out for me.
This sort of confused me but the lady who operated the
restaurant told me that the pastor who I had stayed
with last night told her that I was coming. When the
plate was put in front of me, I was amazed at the size
of the bun and the burger. They were the size of a
dinner plate. She said that this was actually small
for a Texas Burger.
When I bit into the burger, I thought it was really
great beef but it wasn't. Instead of beef, I was
chowing down on buffalo. The buffalo that had supplied
it was from the owner's herd. To go along with the
burger I got a dinner plate full of homemade fries. I
couldn't eat but just half of the burger. I was told
not too worry because it would be wrapped up along
with the other burger that she had made for me if I
had a Texas sized appetite.
