STORIES FROM THE ROAD

FOUND MONEY
My heart was still pumping after the encouter with a
car in downtown Mystic, CT. I was riding through the
downtown area towards the drawbridge across the mouth
of the Whitford River. While I was passing this one
car, the driver opened the driver's side door. I
swerved to get out of it's way but the right side of
my handlebar got clipped and I hit the pavement. I
didn't get hurt or the bike damaged even though there
were several cars behind me that stopped quickly
behind me. It turns out that the driver was talking to
the lady in the front passenger seat and didn't check
to see if there was any incoming traffic.
Instead of taking my chances and finish the ride
through town, I got off and walked. About a mile from
the river and the downtown area, I came across a young
boy who was having trouble with his bike. Somehow, he
had gotten the chain of his bike really twisted up. I
tried to get the chain untangled but I could do a
complete job since I didn't have a chain breaker. I
did get the bike fixed so that he could at least walk
it home.
About a couple hundred feet from the place where I had
stopped to help the boy, I saw that somebody had
thrown away one of the envelopes that you get from a
bank after they cash your check. Something inside of
me told me that I should check it out. When I picked
it up, the envelope didn't feel like it was empty.
Inside was twenty-five dollars and thirty-five cents.
This was a really fantastic find and I thought to
myself that this might be a way for ADONAI to say that
I did a good job helping out the boy.
