STORIES FROM THE ROAD

THE TEMPLE
Just out of curiosity since I was in the state of the
Latter Day States (Mormons), I decided to stop and check out one
of their churches. One of the things that made me a
bit worried about my experience to come was that there
was no cross on the steeple. I found out that there
are no crosses at all in all of the building and
ground even though they say that this is a Christian
ministry.
I decided to check out the Temple in Bringham City, UT.
There were supposed tobe tours of the temple. The building
was quite huge. It's hard to believe that
the majority of this complex had been built by hand
out of materials at hand which was mostly stone.
Inside the building, a lot of the stone was textured
and painted so that you would believe that it was made
out of wood.
When I got inside, two ladies greeted me but only one
lady did all of the talking. The look on their faces
was one where you wouldn't think that they thought
kindly to the crosses on my safety vest. We went
around the building and the lady who did the talk read
from a script.
I wanted to see if they could tell about her faith in
her own words. I had already heard about the history
about how the Mormon faith was founded. Kindly, I told
the lady that I would like to her what she had to say
on her own and I sort of covered the script with one
of my gloved hands but the lady got frustrated because
I was something that she wasn't trained to deal with.
