STORIES FROM THE ROAD

CHRISTIAN BUMPERSTICKER
It was a tough time heading north along I-15 on the
way to Pocatello, ID. The spoke that I had snapped in Utah
had snapped again. The wobble of the rear wheel wasn't
really that bad but it was causing me some problems.
A couple of miles south of Arimo a van pulled off the
interstate in front of me. This had happened quite
often and most times the driver was pulling off to
check their map or switch drivers but the lady driver
pulled me over too. I thought that it was quite
unusual in an area where there were a lot of Mormons
to see a Christian sticker on the rear bumper of the
van. It read "JESUS IS LORD". The first thing the lady
asked me if I was a Christian because of the cross
that I had sewn onto my safety vest.
I told her that I was a missionary. She thought that
this was great and asked me if I needed anything. I
told her that I needed to get the broken spoke
repaired and the rim retrued. The lady said that she
didn't have much money with her but all that she had I
could have. In a handshake she slipped thirteen
dollars. What was so interesting about this amount was
that when I stopped at a bike shop in Pocatello this
was the exact amount that I needed for the repairs.
