STORIES FROM THE ROAD

"CHRIST PILOT ME"
Just east of Beeler,KS, I came across "Christ Pilot Me"
Mountain. There was a sign that said that in August of
1940, about forty school children as a project
gathered rocks from around the area, painted them
white, and placed them on the side of the mountain
facing westward in the pattern of large letters which
read "Christ Pilot Me".
The letters were so huge that they could be made out
in the air from a plane. In 1990, three crosses were
added. It was sort of neat to see this in the middle
of "no-where".
