STORIES FROM THE ROAD
January 18, 1998
UNCARING
I got into Intercession City, FL around 5:30 p.m. and
pulled in to the Church of G-D for the evening
service. They seemed to be a friendly group. It looked
like there might be a guest speaker. He sounded that
he was from Britain.
The sermon was quite long but the words seemed just to
be empty. Nothing really happened for the good after
the service. The minister hemmed and hawed after the
service when I asked him if there was a chance for me
to either possibly camp out around the church or maybe
stay inside. I should have known what his answer was
going to be because his wife chimed in that people
don't really take kindly with people camping out
around the church.
Who's picture did they have a picture on the one of
the walls in the church. Surely Y'SHUA wouldn't turn
people away. The minister and his wife said that they
were not carrying any money but I wasn't begging for
anything. There was one excuse after another.
The minister even went as far as asking me why I
didn't express my need to him before the service. How
could I? He didn't introduce himself. He had the
chance. Normally you would expect that a pastor would
want to greet and meet a strange face.
There was nothing that I could do but to head out in
the dark. I didn't feel comfortable doing this because
the batteries in my helmet light were quite low. At
least, I had enough light from the moon to see the
white line on the edge of the highway. It was around
eleven at night when I finally found a place to camp
out.
