STORIES FROM THE ROAD

July 22, 1998

THE FRIENDLY STATE TROOPER

About twelve miles out of Alexander City, AL on US 231, I got stopped by a state trooper. I had thought that I had did something wrong like being on a restricted highway but it wasn't the case. The trooper just wanted to talk.

He asked me if I needed anything like water. We talked for about ten minutes. Before he left, I was surprised when he slipped me ten dollars. This was a great blessing.
