STORIES FROM THE ROAD

I APPRECIATE WHAT YOU'RE DOING
About four miles out of Concord, North Carolina, a truck that was in
front of me pulled off to the shoulder and the man
driving it motioned for me to stop. I thought that
maybe I had did something wrong. Instead, he just
wanted to talk for a few minutes.
It turns out that he had seen me several miles back
and he wondered why I had the cross on the back of my
safety vest. I told him what I was doing. Before he
left, he slipped three dollars into my hand and said
thank you for my being here. He said that the area
that I was pedaling through needed a lot of prayers
