TRIP 2001 UPDATES
Update #7 - May 14th, 2001
Orchard Park, New York - 1847 miles
Today was an unexpected rest day because of the weather. This morning it was too cold and somewhat rainy to head out. It
was great that I did because I would have missed a fantastic bicycle museum in the area. It is called the Museum of
Pedaling History and traces the one hundred eighty years of bicycling history. This is the only complete, all-bicycle
museum in the United States. Also, it has one of the largest collections of antique and classic bicycles from around
the world. There are over three hundred rare and unique bicycles on display.
A couple of the rarest bicycles are the only surviving 1880's floating marine bike, folding paratrooper bikes from WWII,
a bicycle made by the Harley-Davidson Company, and a bicycle built for five. They have a good website at
Pedaling History Bicycle Museum
Tomorrow morning, I'll be heading out towards Pennsylvania and Ohio.
