TRIP 2001 UPDATES
Update #28 - Aug 25th, 2001
Memphis, Tennessee - 6359 miles
The ride from Jackson to Memphis, TN went okay. The heat wasn't really bad this section. Most of the daily temperatures was
in the low-nineties but the humidity wasn't that high
For lodging, I stayed at a Methodist church in Brownsville, TN and the past two nights have been spent at a Christian
Community in Memphis. The Christian community came out of the School of Servanthood that is based in Washington,
D.C.
There was pretty neat scenery to see while riding through rolling hills of Central and Western Tennessee. There were
no real construction problems to deal with or high traffic to ride with. I was amazed at the flat land between Brownsville
and Memphis.
The Habitat for Humanity house Thursday afternoon in Brownsville was really nice. There was almost one hundred people in
attendance. I got the chance to speak for a few minutes near the beginning of the ceremony. This was the second house
dedication for the affiliate that became official in April of 2000. They will be starting their third house in
October.
Tomorrow, I will be starting my trip back to Americus, Georgia. I hope to be in Americus, Georgia by the second week
of September. Tentatively, I plan to ride at least 908 more miles. Here is a tentative list of places that I'll be
