TRIP 2002 UPDATES
Update 31 - July 29th, 2002
Reading, Massachusetts - 4,777 miles
PRAISE ADONAI!!! I'm back on the road!!! I left Augusta, Maine last Thursday. It really feels good to have two-wheels
below me again. It was a long time coming.
The ride has been going okay. I have been having a little bit of a problem with my rear derailleur not shifting right
but I hope to have it fixed in the next couple of days. There is a REI within a couple of miles where I am staying.
I think I am doing okay. My left arm seems to be holding up okay. Riding the recumbent doesn't stress the shoulder much.
I am really amazed at this. The only time I have some problem with it is when I have to get off the bike and push it some.
I don't push myself when I do this and I take a lot of breaks.
As you can tell from looking at the latest entries in the trip's log, I've got up to speed real fast mileage wise. The
only problem is that being inactive for as long as I was having to recover from shoulder surgery I put on between 15
and 20 pounds around my middle. Hopefully, the pounds will be sweated off fast during the Dog Day's of Summer.
Right now, I'm staying with friends for a few days recovering from a nasty sun and wind burn on my left arm. I've been
using SPF 40 and lathering it on but I still got burnt. It's been too hot trying to ride with something with sleeves.
Hopefully, I'll be healed enough to get back on the road either Friday or Saturday.
Once back on the road, I'll be riding around Boston. I'm not sure where I'll be going or how long I will be out. Each
day and mile cycled will be with ADONAI's and Y'SHUA's comfort, help, and guidance.
