TRIP 2003 UPDATES
Update #10 - March 04th, 2003
Brenham, TX - 2,005.1 miles (3,208.2 kms.)
There isn't much to write about the ride between Newton and Brenham, Texas. Weather was the major difficulty again. There
has been one rain storm after another with maybe a day's break between them. Because of the storms, I had to take day's
off the road in Jasper and Jersey Village. Today was a good day even though it was overcast. There was a good tailwind
to push me along.
Even though I didn't get to speak at the Hillside Baptist Church in Jasper, TX last Wednesday night since there was a
Revival finishing up, I got $30 in "Green-Handshakes" and a room donated at the Day's Inn. I did get the chance to speak
to the Alpha Class (exploring Christianity) Sunday night at the Foundry Methodist Church in Jersey Village, TX about
twenty miles Northwest of Houston. They had a great meal. After speaking, I went to the Bible study led by the head
pastor of the church. Afterwards, I got over $100 in "Green-Handshakes".
Along the way, I did have several donated motel rooms since the night temperatures got below freezing and of course
the wet weather. Hillside Baptist Church in Jasper, TX and the Ministerial Alliance in Libery, TX helped me out.
As I had stated in previous updates, I was going to go to the Dallas and Amarillo areas but winter storms blocked my
path. That is why I had to head south to Houston. I'm on the way to Johnson City, which is about forty miles west of
Austin. I should be there this weekend but the rest of this week will have off and on rain. Eventually, I'll be making
my way along the Southern part of the country to California. I had hoped to be riding in California on the tenth
anniversary of my ministry on March 27th but we will have to see.
