TRIP 2003 UPDATES
Update #48 - Dec. 18, 2003
Seguin, TX - 10,948.2 miles (17,517.1 kms.)
There isn't much to write about. The cold weather has been a major factor. Bad Roads have been another factor. The roadway
shoulder has been so bad that several days ago I had to get out my needle and thread and sew up a sidewall cut on my front
tire. I need to get the tire replaced as soon as possible.
Tomorrow, I will be riding into San Antonio. I am hoping to stop for a few days and volunteer with the Habitat for
Humanity affiliate. About this time of year back in 1997, I stopped there and helped do the finishing touches on three
of the five houses being completed for families so they could move into them before Christmas.
I'm thinking about turning around from San Antonio and heading back to Florida. I really don't want to go on and try to
ride across the desert now. I had some really bad problems with this earlier in the year. I will have to see what each
day brings.
I'll try to post an update as often as I can if there are any changes in my plans.
