TRIP 2004 UPDATES
Update #32 - August 25, 2004
Lakeland, FL - 9,005.6 miles (14,409.0 kms.)
My trip down the west side of Florida to the area affected by Hurricane Charley is almost over. I had some good stops in
Branford, Archer, Williston, and Douglas and have made some new friends in those towns. The First Baptist Church in Dade
City was a great host last night. I will be starting the ride through the area affected by the hurricane tomorrow. I'll
be riding along U.S. 17 from Barlow tomorrow.
I will be traveling through the towns of Zolla Springs, Gardner, Brownsville, Arcadia, Nocatee, Hull, Fort Ogden,
Cleveland, and then Punta Gordo. I hope to stop for the night tomorrow in Arcadia. This city also had some extensive
damage from the hurricane.
If I do not find any chances to volunteer and help out there, I will be continuing on to Punta Gordo. I am not sure how
long I will be in the area affected by Hurricane Charley. I'll be there for as long as I am needed.
Once done, I'll be going to LaBelle to visit with some friends and a Methodist Church there. I have no idea or feeling of
direction after my stop in LaBelle. I do need to find some time off the road.
I'll try and post and update as often as I can if my plans change again.
