TRIP 2004 UPDATES
Update #38 - October 18, 2004
Covington, LA - 10,248.5 miles (17,397.6 kms.)
It has been a good time off with some friends here in Covington. Over the weekend, there was an offer of possibly giving
me the chance to get off the road for the Winter. My new friend's had a minister friend in N. Mississippi who was looking
for some help. He woulde have given me room and board and possibly a stipend. The only stipulation would be if the wife
was in agreement since I would have stayed with them but in a separate apartment.
I would have liked to be able to take some time off the road. Winter is one of the hardest seasons to ride through. Well,
the wife said no. It wasn't meant to be.
I'll be getting back on the road tomorrow. I'll be heading towards the Dallas, Texas area to visit with a friend who has a
Christian bicycle touring company. If the weather is not too cold, I might be riding to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to visit
a couple of ministries there.
My wish is that the next two and a half months in the year would be a much better than the last nine months have been. I
hope that I find more open doors and ministers with compassionate hearts. I do wish that I could find someplace to stay
over the winter. I'll try and post and update as often as I can if my plans change again.
