TRIP 2005 UPDATES
Update #32 - September 26, 2005
Belleville, IL - 11,317 miles (18108 kms.)
Nothing really spetacular happened between Dekalb, MS and Belleville, IL. I made stops in Macon, Aberdeen, and New Albany,
MS; Somerville and Trenton, TN; Wycliffe, KY; and Murphysboro and Red Bud, KY. My stop in Aberdeen was actually for two
days and three nights. I was the guest of a great lady from the First Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen, MS for two nights.
She thought that I needed the rest and I did. I had a great time with Liz and her two dogs Rebel and Lucy. The First
Presbyterian Church was really nice to me.
I was the guests of churches in New Albany, MS; Somerville and Trenton, TN (I spent the night in the First Presbyterian
Church in Trenton); and Murphysboro and Red Bud, IL. The last church was the First Baptist Church in Red Bud last
night.
Overall the temperature was in the mid 90s. Yesterday, I had a wet day (my first one in about three months) while I
rode between Murphysboro and Red Bud. This was because of the remnants of Hurricane Rita. I'm glad that I'm back in
the MidWest since temperatures should be in the 70s.
I've got about a 40 mile ride to my friend's house in Granite City. I'll be there for maybe a few days. Then I'll head
off (possibly for the last leg of this year's ride) to Ft. Wayne, IN. I have an elderly friend who might need my help
for the rest of the year there. If all works out okay. I'll probably stay put till at least March or April of next year.
Maybe, I'll finally be able to start on the book that everybody wants me to write.
I'll try and post and update as often as I can if my plans change.
