I know that it has bee just a few days since my last update but something interesting happened last night. I got into Lancaster around 6:30 p.m. I stopped at a gas station to use the payphone. I wanted to try and connect with one of the four Warm Showers members here in the area. I called up Greg L. to see if he was home. Greg wasn't there at the time but his brother Ernie was (Ernie and Greg live together). Ernie gave me directions through the city.

About halfway through the downtown area, this guy in a truck called out and asked me if I needed a place to stay for the night. I told him no since I already had plans. About a half hour after I got to their house, Greg came home. It was really weird that he was the guy in the truck who asked me if I needed a place to stay.

This morning, I'm heading over to the small town of Blue Ball in Amish - Mennonite country. Ernie is arranging for me to go to a bike shop there to get some needed bike repairs done to the bike. My rear derailleur is not working right ad I've only can use four gears on my rear cluster.

From the bike shop, I'll be swinging around Philadelphia on the way to Trenton, NJ. I'll probably be in New Jersey in 2-3 days. I estimate that I've got between three and four weeks of travel to get to Maine. My first major stop along the way is Darien, Connecticut. Possibly in Maine, I'll be going farther up the coast than what I've cycled before. This would have me cross New Hampshire and Vermont farther north than what I've done before. I just hope that the mountain gremlins will look nicely upon me so I don't have a repeat on what happened in 2003 (the bike crash) or something worse.

I'll try and post an update as often as I can if my plans change. The next update should be posted between April 18th and April 25th.
