TRIP 2009

Update #01 - January 05th
Americus, Georgia
264 miles (422 KM) since Jan 01st

The ride from Pearlington, Mississippi to Americus, Georgia went okay. It is good that I am back in Americus but I'm a little disappointed at the outcome of the trip. I was planning to be away for at least another month and I was really hoping that I would have found something to do to help out with the rebuilding and recovery after Hurricane Ike.

From Pearlington, Mississippi, I made stops in Ocean Springs, Mississippi; Grand Bay and Loxley, Alabama; Milton, De Funiak Springs, and Marianna, Florida; and Colquitt, Georgia. Three nights were spent at the First Baptist Church in Grand Bay, Alabama because I had caught some kind of mild stomach virus. Between Grand Bay, AL and Americus, Georgia, I got hosted by the Assembly of G-D Church in Richardson-Loxley, Alabama; The Church of Chr-st in Milton, Florida; Episcopal Church in De Funiak Springs, Florida; United Methodist Church in Marianna, Florida; and the First Baptist Church in Colquitt, Georgia.

I'll probably be writing more about the last trip in future updates but I'm going to have to digest what happened. I'm going to probably stay off the road till at least the latter half of March or the first of April. The next update should be between Jan 12 and Jan 19.
