TRIP 2009

Update #27 - September 24th
Americus, Georgia
7383 miles (11,813 KM) since March 22nd
7646 miles (12,234 KM) since January 01st

There hasn't been a lot of things happening since my last update. I am pretty well rested from the trip. Right now, I'm trying to find things to do here in the Americus area to keep me occupied. Early next month, I'll be attending my first meeting of the local ministerial association as the guest of the priest at the Episcopal Church. Also, I might be getting involved in some capacity with the local food pantry.

One of the major things that I've done during these past couple of weeks is to sort through and upload most of the pictures to a photo sharing site on the web. I set up an account on Picassa. Here is a

LINK to my account. There are over 3,000 photos in 100 folders. Below is a slide show of some of the pictures.

Another thing that I did was to set up an account on YouTube for some of the videos that I took along the way. Here is the LINK to my account page.

I've been thinking about riding up to the Atlanta area to help out with the recovery from the flood that happened earlier in the week but the flood water hasn't receded enough and I'm concerned about the contamination caused by the flooded sewage treatment plants. I will be keeping my eye out for any volunteer relief programs in the next couple of weeks. The biggest thing happening in the area is the Peanut Festival in Plains this weekend. I might be riding Alice there and taking some pictures.

The next update should be between October 01 and October 08.
