TRIP 2010

Update #23 - August 11th
Big Rapids, Michigan
5,854.63 miles (9,367.41 KM)

Fifteeth update for the trip.

I hope that the last update was short enough for the person who sent me a message through my website telling me that I was just talking about the same things. I could spend time now writing about the rest of my trip in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, how I got across the Mackinac Bridge, my nearly getting hit by an 18 wheeler because of bad fog yesterday but I might be telling too much stuff and giving my critics more food to complain about.

It would probably be a neat thing to find in my email box messages of hope and prayer instead of ones telling me that I'm doing something bad. At least, I'm out here sharing my faith and showing people that G-D does care about them. Mother Theresa always said that there will be critics trying to knock people down. According to her poem,

"It was never between You and Them,
It was always between You and G-D anyway ."

I guess people will have to wait for the possible e-book that I'm working on.

From Big Rapids, I've got between three and four more days of riding here in Michigan before crossing into Ohio northwest of Toledo. I'm going to riding through the north section of Ohio and then ride to the G.A.P. (Great Appalachian Passage Bike Trail) in Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh. I really want to ride the G.A.P. again and also the C&O Towpath maybe to Washington, D.C. I did that in 2008 but I didn't have a digital camera back then. I'm not sure what route I will be taking between Washington, DC and Americus, Georgia. I'll be going through Springfield, Georgia since I've got an invite from a chaplain that works with a truck stop ministry.

I'll try and add a new update every two weeks along the way so the next one will be around August 29th.
