TRIP 2011

Update #26 - November 01
Shreveport, Louisiana
6,517.12 miles (10,427.39 KM)

Usually, I have been posting updates every two weeks or so but there hasn't been anything new to talk about. In the previous update, I was thinking about getting back on the road but I stuck out the month. Even though there hasn't been any home construction to do there were other things to keep me occupied during my time here with the Fuller Center For Housing of NW Louisiana I've been able to make some money here because usually when I get off the road my income generally stops since I no longer have any speaking engagements and I do not have a base of donors.

I was able to get the rear wheel re-laced. I had it done a couple of weeks ago at
Scooter's Bike Shop here in Shreveport. It cost a little more than what I had expected but it needed to be done. There was no guarentee that any of the old spokes would not break. Some people have commented that it would have been cheaper to go and by a new rear wheel but there was no guarentee that the spokes on it would have been guage or produced well.

I have gotten involved with a program in Alabama that helps missionaries. The ministry is called
Servant Care . Through the ministry there might be a change in location of residence during the remainder of the year. I'm really wanting to get out of flux and be in a place where I can stay put for a while and possibly start the process of writing the book about my travels like everybody wants me to. I've pretty well got the title of the book narrowed down to "With Every Wheel Revolution", which is the beginning of my motto.

I will keep everybody abreast through upcoming updates. Usually, I try and add a new update every two weeks but it might be longer if nothing really happens in the upcoming weeks. The next update might be posted as early as November 15th.
