TRIP 2012

Update #03 - February 13th
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
00.00 miles (00.00 KM)

I have been here in Baton Rouge for thirty-eight days. As I had mentioned in the previous update, that I was going to be able to take care of some medical needs that I've been putting off. Well, they have started. The majority of the medical work is going to be done on my mouth. For a long time, I haven't had a really good smile but this isn't going to be the case any more. The dental work has been set up in seven steps. The first step was x-rays and evaluation and that was taken care of two weeks ago. Last week, the second step was completed and was dental surgery on my upper jaw. Tomorrow morning, I'm going to be at the dentist again for the third step which will be dental surgery on my lower jaw.

I am really surprised that I've not experienced much pain during the steps. I only took one Ibuprofen about a couple of hours after the dental surgery on my upper jaw. The way that it is progressing I'm hoping that the dental surgery will be finished by the end of March.

For now, I am really hoping that I'll be on the road by March 27th. This will be the 19th anniversary of the official start of my ministry. Because of the late start, The eve of last Saturday (Feb 11th) was the 19th anniversary of the dreams about me getting back on the road. Tonight would be the 19th anniversary of the third night of the dreams. Tomorrow night will be the 19th anniversary of the fourth and final night of the dreams and also the night when I heard the word "Go". Sunday (Feb 19th) will be the 19th anniversary when I headed out of Portland, Oregon.

As I mentioned in my last update, I will not be traveling beyond the Rocky Mountains before I turn Northwards. I'd like to ride through San Antonio, Austin, and Waco, Texas before turning Northwest. I've got friends in the Colorado Springs and Denver, Colorado area. The only concern is that I will be possibly crossing Kansas and Nebraska during tornado season. I've stopped and helped after tornadoes but I don't want to get caught in one. From Colorado, I'll probably be riding up into South or North Dakota before turning Eastward to the East Coast. I haven't figured out where I will be ending this year's ride.

I'll try and add a new update every two weeks along the way so the next one will be around February 27th.
