TRIP 2017

Update #22 - November 16th
Hattiesburg, Mississippi
Year Total : 5,124.05 miles (8,198.48 km)

The recovery is going slow but not as fast as I had hoped. I was walking up to two miles a day but about two and a half weeks ago I tried to go for my long walks without a cane. My right leg wasn't strong enough and something went a little off. After two laps, I had to hobble back to my room. I've just started doing the laps again.

My law firm in Illinois was able to complete the process of getting a settlement with the insurance company. I received the check today and I made arrangements for it to be deposited into my bank account. Because of having the extra money, I've decided to move into Hattiesburg instead of staying in the country. My friend and I found a good extended stay hotel on the West side of Hattiesburg a block South of the main East - West highway through Hattiesburg. The hotel is close to a couple of fast food places and a restaurant. There is a church two blocks away and a restaurant about a mile away to the East.

I've heard from the bike shop in Nw Illinois. The new recumbent is almost modified to my needs. Once it is finished, I'm going to have it boxed up so it can be picked up and shipped to a bike shop here in Hattiesburg. Below is a picture of the new recumbent before it was taken in to the work room for modifications. The only differences between it and Alice is the color and material that the frame is made out of. The new recumbent is red instead of silver and the frame is made out of Chrome-moly instead of aluminum. I am having it converted from a 24-speed to a 27-speed and I am getting the disc brakes upgraded to a more stronger disc brake.
