TRIP 2018

Update #01 - January 13st
Hattiesburg, Mississippi
Year Total : 00.00 miles (00.00 km)

First update for the year. For the past couple of weeks, I've been spending most of my time working on the manuscript for my upcoming book. I probably did a dozen revisions on the manuscript. The title of the book is going to be "Pedaling With A Purpose". It's going to be have 13 chapters, 350 pages, and over 134,000 words. I already have a publisher Publishing With Parables . They will be publishing the manuscript in printed form as well as an ebook for free. I just have to pay for the Copyright through the Library of Congress and get an ISBN for it.

There is going to be a change in my recumbent. I thought that I was going to get an EZ-Speedster-CX and upgrade the components to what there were on the AX (making it a 27 speed) but I was fortunate in finding another EZ-Speedster-AX. The main problem with the CX was that I wasn't able to find anybody willing to pack the recumbent up in a box so it could be shipped.

Finding a new Speedster-AX was really hard because there were only about 330 of them made back in 2005. The Speedster series (three models) was built as a limited-edition short-production run because Easy Racer Recumbents was trying to get into the short-wheelbase market. I found it through the
Bicycle Man website. The store is in Alfred Station, New York. It's almost wild that the recumbent looks almost new since it is actually thirteen years old.

The only thing different between this recumbent and Alice is that it has the original handlebar and the previous owner switched the 26 inch rear wheel and put on a 700cc Wheel, replaced the rear disc brake and put on a sidepull brake, kept the original handlebar, and for some reason took off the chain tubes and the guard that protected the front chain rings. I'm having the rear wheel and brake changed back to a disc brake and a 26 inch wheel. I'm going to have the owner of the bike shop switch the original curved handlebar to a flat (straight) mountain bike handlebar. Here is a picture of it that I got off of the store website.

Hopefully in a couple of weeks, the new recumbent is going to be here in Hattiesburg, MS so I can get in more exercise to rehab my legs better and also get them strong enough so that I can get back on the road before March 27th. March 27th is the twenty-fifth anniversary of the start of my ministry.

The next update might be posted between January 20th and January 27th.
